There has been a lot of protesting going on the Farm Bills in India, including a sustained protest from the farmers of Punjab And Haryana.
But are the farm bills good or bad? Are the farmers protests right? What are some of the common objections that people have against the Bills?
Economist Karan Bhasin explains some objections and offers some answers to doubts over the farm bills. Karan Bhasin is an economist and columnist who holds a master's degree from TERI School of Advanced Studies and a bachelor's degree in economics from The University of London. He has diverse research interests spanning areas such as macroeconomics, monetary economics, institutional economics, and political economy.
